At 21 Months Caroline is:
*Talking a ton! She can count to 14: "One, two, tee, four, fize, sits, seven, eight, nine, TEN!, weven, twewve, tutteen, fouwteen... fouwteen... fouwteen... fouwteen..."
*She's combining words: "Funny man!" "Bampa, funny!" then giggle. Cute!
"Hands. Cold, Tawrowine. Mommy. Hands. Cold."
"Apsick! Wike it! Mmmmm, good!" (She does like Chapstick and kept sneaking in my drawer and eating it! I had to put up high every tube we have.
"Kitty! Beelee! 'Are you? (Where are you)" giggle giggle. " 'Ere is!" (There he is!)
When she hears the garage door going up: "Daddy home! Daddy home!" or, if Daddy is nowhere to be seen, "Daddy wook!" (work)
When I bring her to her crib at night in Austin's room: "Aussin peeping." (sleeping). She also calls soup, "poup". :D
When we ask her a question she doesn't know the answer to: "A know." (I don't know)
"Okay, Tawrowine. Okay." Happily, when we agree to something she wants, or she wants us to agree to something.
"Socks. ON." or "Sooes. ON." when we're ready to go somewhere.
On and on it goes. She talks from the time she wakes up until she goes to bed at night. Even talking in her bed: In the mornings: "Mommy! Mommyyyyy!", then when she's with me: "Mick." Like we better get on with the next thing--time to nurse already. At night I put her in her bed and she says, "Banket." or "Fiends. Elmo. 'Onkers. Kiss!" (Friends, Elmo, Honkers. And she wants them to kiss her.
*She sings. Songs she sings on her own: Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, Running Over, Wheels on the Bus. She runs words and phrases together, but knows the tune and words enough that we can tell she's singing them. She will also play and recite Patty Cake and This Little Piggy on her own. Many songs Lauren or I will sing with her, letting Caroline finish the last word(s) of each phrase.
*Nurses 2-3 times a day. Pretty much down to just morning and night now.
*Wears size 18 month clothes, growing out of them, and starting to wear 24 month. Wears size 4 diapers. And size 5 shoes. Though I don't think for long. It's almost like she's skipping size 5, as she's almost into Lauren's old 6's.
*Plays with Lauren's Littlest Pet Shop and Polly Pockets. And Barbie stuff. Thankfully doesn't put much in her mouth!
*Likes watching Max and Ruby, Dora, and Oomi Zoomi with Lauren. They sit right next to each other on the couch or in the recliner.
*Very picky eater. We never know if she'll eat her meals or not. It's frustrating to Brian and me, and she ends up wasting a good amount of her meals. There are only so many times you can reheat leftovers. And give her her rejected apple pieces or grapes or strawberries before they get shriveled and tough. Grrrr....
*Loves playing outside. If someone goes in the backyard, she stands at the sliding glass door, saying pitifully, " 'Side. 'Side! 'Side..." Sometimes she runs and grabs shoes and sweaters so we'll know she wants to go out!
*Obsessed with shoes. Her own and the rest of ours. Tries them on and clomps around the house. Gets them out of the closets too.
*Into everything! Beads, chapstick, hair pretties, Q-Tips, markers, crayons, Legos, little toys, the computer, TV remote, etc.
*Throws bits of trash she finds on the floor into the trash. And things that are not trash!
*Loves having stories read to her, and looking at books on her own. Many nights Brian reads to her while I'm finishing getting supper ready.
She really is a sweet little girl, and it's such a fun age. Her siblings adore her! Though aren't always thrilled about her getting into their stuff. ;)
Edited to add: Blogger is messed up--not sure why the one paragraph is showing so big when published! I'm not able to change it.
