Tuesday morning we went to Jump Zone with Doug, Annette, and their kids. My cousin's wife Judy came with her daughter, Abby. All the kids liked helping Baby Abby up the big inflatable slides. Baby Abby is growing into a little girl, but my kids still call her "Baby Abby"! Here are Annaliese and Caroline. Annaliese is 3 weeks older than Caroline.
Friday night we had a get-together with my mom's side of the family, at my parents' house. Everyone had a good time, and I think we didn't go to bed until 2:30-3 am!! The kids went to bed late, too, but not that late. It was so late though, that Austin was asking if he could go to bed. It's not often we hear that!
Grandma playing with Caroline Saturday morning. Don't you love Cinderella posing behind her? ;) Julia received that paper doll for Christmas.

Caroline reading the paper with Grandpa before we left on Sunday morning.
Driving in OR, going home, Dec. 28. The big kids watched DVDs much of the drive. Caroline was a great little traveler, and slept most of the time.

On Sunday night, just before we got to our hotel in Medford, OR, Lauren threw up in the car. It was really gross and smelled terrible, but thankfully none got on the van upholstery or carpet! Lauren and her car seat and clothes were a mess, however. And wouldn't you know it, the Best Western we stopped at had no guest laundry. So, we gave Lauren a bath to clean her up, leaving the messy stuff outside. The drain in the bathtub didn't work well, and the water kept draining out, which she did not like. Austin fell asleep sitting up, in his clothes, on his bed. Caroline was wide awake and kicking and all smiles on our bed. I didn't want Lauren in a bed,in case she wasn't through vomiting, so made her one on the floor with extra bedding.
After Lauren was clean and sent to bed, I rinsed out her clothes in the tub and bagged them up tightly to deal with at home. (Home was sounding reeeeeeally good at this point.) Then I set to work rinsing out her carseat cover in the tub, scrubbing its seams with the tiny little bar of hotel bath soap, as well as the car seat straps. I rigged the carseat up in the tub so the straps could dry, and we stuck the cover on the room heater/AC unit to dry. We finished drying it with the hair dryer in the morning! I don't care to ever do that again, and I appreciate my washing machine and dryer and hose in the backyard as well as the warm CA sunshine to dry a wet car seat, that much more!
Lauren only ate 1/4 a bagel with jelly Monday (Dec. 29) morning, but we didn't trust her not throwing up again, so took the hotel ice bucket with us, just in case! And sure enough, she needed it! She was so proud of herself and said, "I am a big TID (kid) to trow up in the bucket wike Deeya (Julia)!" Oh boy. We didn't let her eat anything the rest of the day. We made it home around 10? Monday night. Tuesday morning we discovered Lauren had thrown up in her bed sometime during the night. How can they do that and not wake up? I didn't let her eat anything that whole day either, and Wednesday she ate again, and has been fine since. We think she got a stomach bug from her cousin who was sick on Christmas Day. No fun for her either.
