They all went to play in the living room, and were jumping on the couches and falling hard, "Timbeeeeer!" Not OK. I suggested they play another game, and Austin, taking "game" literally, said, "Julia, do you want to play Pente?" No, she didn't. Try again: "Julia, do you want to play Candy Lane?" That is what he calls it. She didn't. So they started building a tent with the quilts and couches and her foam hopscotch squares. Until they had enough of that. On to other things. I was surprised to see Julia sitting in the family room like this. It's been a long time since she's sat in the little rocker! On the window sill is part of her library. She has made her own library in the family room. I think these books are ones she owns. On the fireplace mantle she has library books for her to read and a section of her own picture books.

Taking a break to read with Austin

Back over to the little table where Julia was sitting--just a cute one of Austin.

This is what she was doing at the little table: looking at her box of pictures. These are prints I have given her to look at or do crafts with. All three kids were by her for awhile.

Austin looking at books. I'm not exactly sure why two are open at once!

Lauren cooking french fries in the microwave. It was a warm day yesterday, and is hot again today. It was her idea to wear shoes. I was getting her dressed in the morning and she kept saying, "Sues! Sues!" until we went to get them--these are what she picked out. The rest of us went barefoot most of the day!

"Who are you talking to, Lauren?" "Dada," she answers, and continues chattering away to "him".

Before naps we were outside. I watered the plants and filled up the pool for the kids to go in later. Well, as it was filling, Lauren sat in it, getting her outfit a little wet. I stripped her and just let her play in it in her birthday suit. The other two decided that was a grand idea and stripped down to nothing as well, happy to play in the cool water! Austin could NOT resist the hose with water running, and sprayed his sisters and the house (not good with the windows open!!). That was the end of the pool session. Clothes back on and back into the house for stories and naps! After supper they went in again, this time in their bathing suits. ;) The water was nice and warm. Brian had the sprinkler on to water a dry patch in the lawn, and Austin would run through the sprinkler and then jump into the pool.
Julia started pouring water on the little slide to make it slippery for sliding into the pool. Lauren thought that was a great idea and used her watering can to get it wet.
As Lauren would slide down the slide, Julia would pour water on her. Great fun!! You think this pool is big enough for everyone?! We have a larger one, but one of the rings has a hole in it, so it doesn't set up properly.
