Austin turned six October 1! He brought cupcakes to school to share with his classmates. He chose blue frosting for his cupcakes. His teacher gave him this birthday crown to wear. She also told us we could stay for awhile if we wanted, so my dad, mom, Lauren and Caroline stayed in his class for awhile. Austin also got to be the helper of the day, not because it was his birthday, it just happened to be his turn that day! He was so cute, pointing at the letters above the white board as the class sang the ABC song, and when he had to count how many were having hot or cold lunch. He said, and I think this must be what every helper has to say, "Everyone who is eating in the cafeteria, please stand up, " then he counted that group. And next, "Everyone who brought a lunch from home, please stand up, " then he counted that group and wrote both numbers on the board. We also got to see how one little girl, Cassidy specifically comes up to Austin and stands by him when he comes to school. She also wants his attention, as she repeatedly called his name, all of which he was completely oblivious to. :D She was standing right by our little group, watching us say good-bye to Austin. Pretty cute. [And I am wondering if she thinks
he is pretty cute! LOL]
We celebrated Austin's birthday that night. My dad BBQed salmon for supper. It was nice they could be here for his little party. We are having a party with a few of his friends this coming Saturday. Austin wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese
and have a party with friends at home, but we told him he had to choose one, and he chose the party at home.
This cake was kind of a last minute idea. I was planning to make a pumpkin dessert, since my parents were visiting, and it being Fall now. Austin liked that idea just fine, but then I asked him if he wanted the pumpkin dessert or a chocolate cake, and he chose the cake. Which I was kind of glad about, as it was easier to make! I had leftover blue frosting from his school cupcakes, and chopped up the M&Ms to make it look a little festive. He was pleased. :)

I got to sit in on Andrew's class for their morning routine last month when I was there on a day of a field trip b/c they were going to leave right after their intro stuff. He was whatever they call it where he told what the weather would be for that day, the day of the week, how many days they'd had of school and taking those days how you could use money to make that total (such at if it was 10 days, it would be 10 cents and you could use five nickels, ten pennies or a nickel and five pennies, etc). He also held the flag when they said the pledge. It was cute to watch.
Austin looks so cute w/that smile with his cake and LOL at his face after he blew out the candles. So he got TWO cakes? LOL
