We carved three of our pumpkins last Friday night, the 30th. We waited till the day before Halloween because in the past we've carved them a week or so earlier, and they got rotten and moldy inside before the 31st! This was the first year Julia carved her own design! She was a little afraid of using the carving tools at first, but got the hang of it quickly and did a good job.
We saved all the seeds, which I roasted Monday. Yummy!
All the kids chose how they wanted their pumpkin face to look--shape of eyes, ears or not, teeth or not, etc.
