A few pictures: Austin prefers playing the field rather than hitting. I thought he started hitting pretty well, but often he strikes out now. :( When he does make contact with the ball, he hits it pretty far, so that is good. In the second picture he is with Flat Stanley after a game. Stanley came to watch a game. ;)

What sisters do at baseball: trace hands in the dirt, using a stick for a pencil. And homework. Fourth grade math can be tough! Check out that concentration.

Austin peeking out at us from the dugout. Lauren was eating fishy crackers, and he was begging for them through the fence! Second picture: at bat. He sticks his tongue out like that when he's really focusing!

What sisters do at baseball: Play with other players' sisters. Watch games boys from your class are playing with other players' sisters. Somehow they are more interesting than your own brother's games. ?!?!

Drop snacks in the dirt...then eat them.

Run around and dance like crazy. Hope mom will let you out of the stroller so you can sit on the bleachers like every other big person there.

Julia and Lauren usually run around together exploring the [dry] drainage basin, run through the bushes. Pick flowers and weeds. Collect sticks. Climb the fence. Hope they see a friend who's bought something from the snack bar they are willing to share...
Austin says he likes baseball, but soccer is his favorite. He says his favorite part of baseball is getting snack! After every game, one of the players' family provides lunch bags with a few snacky foods plus a drink, for everyone. I have to say, Julia and Lauren have been envious of his snacks more than once. ;) Here he is, just waiting for a ball to come his way...
