Snack time! Snacks are very important. Tee hee. Funny thing, as the kids were eating, another family passed us and those kids asked their mom if they could have a snack. :) Everybody wants snacks!
Some of the animals we saw: It was neat seeing different exhibits.
Ooops the snack picture again. LOL A pretty flower, and Caroline--worn out from the zoo. She did like looking at the animals that she was able to see.
Zebras! We also saw hippos, which was fun.
Brian bought two cups of nectar for the kids to feed the lorikeets. Then we had the hardest time getting them to come drink! They weren't very hungry. One of the lorikeet helpers said they have two hungry times during the day, typically, and they were full at this time. I kept thinking, "Wouldn't it be nice if you stopped selling nectar when you know the birds aren't hungry?!" But I didn't say that. All the other people in there were having the same trouble too. Julia spilled a lot of her nectar, by accidentally tipping the cup too far. She was mad about that, but it was probably just as well, as we were not getting the birds to drink anyway. We ended up giving the last little bit we had left to another group.
We ate lunch at the zoo restaurant, which was a very nice place! It had a lovely view and good food, lots of choices. We wanted to get on the road, so ran out of time to go on the train. Bummer! Austin let us know how bummed he was, too: "We never get to go on the train!" Pout pout. They did like the zoo though. And they burned off a lot of energy to continue on our drive home. We stayed in Yreka, CA that night, just south of the OR/CA border.
